SoSC project: The Integrated Science Club

Students from Appleby College in Oakville ON worked with scientists at the Canadian Light Source in Saskatoon to use a multi-million dollar facility to investigate possible effects of UV light on zinc oxide nanoparticles (often used in sunscreens and other health products). The students used synchrotron x-rays to investigate the chemistry and structure of the particles.
