Multi-Purpose Drones explained by Fabiana Zanchetta (Italy)

The students at this school set out to build an apparatus that could help the elderly who have trouble getting access to medication due to their limited mobility.

The students ordered a drone kit online and put it together. The students then proceeded to build a lightweight module that could hold small packages of medication. The module was created using parts from an old CD player, small pieces of light-weight wood, various supports machined at the school as well as electronics that were also put together and provided by students at the school. The module was then affixed under the drone as a carrier and dispenser.

The end user can access the package by remote control once the drone flies over. Once a button is clicked on the remote control, the package is dropped from drone.

The drone is then returned to sender.
