Preserving the environment for future generations is a very important issue. What better way to address this than by getting them involved in a miniature boat building project where they will choose and compare different construction materials. For example, the students will look at the use of different materials and determine which one is produced at a high price on the environment. Also, the students will examine the negative aspects the use of these materials will have on the environment. The students will eventually construct a model boat which will be tested in a small swimming pool in class. They will be encouraged to add a propulsion system which will also be environmentally friendly.
