I am a full time teacher and primarily teach physics, grade 11 and 12. I run an AP Physics B program and teach University and Gifted levels. I also teach one section of grade 10 science per year.
Project – Relativistic Pictionary – I present a fairly brief section of Relativity in my grade 12 class. I derive equations for solving problems and then focus a bit on space-time diagrams to illustrate similiar problems. I created a game called Relativistic Pictionary. It is fun because it combines creative writing with special relativity. Students write a story containing relatavistic events. They then illustrate the story on a space-time diagram. Students are challenged to decipher the story from the diagram based on characters that have been introduced. They then compare their version of the story to the true story. They answer a couple of questions using the diagram. They are quite imaginative.
