Greetings from the Board of Science on Stage Canada
We are offering Science teachers/educators an opportunity to share and learn best teaching practices from like-minded individuals like you. We are a unique organization in Canada, designed by educators for educators. Part of our mandate is to encourage and celebrate best teaching/learning practices in the various fields of science education and technology. We hold a Canada Wide Conference for educators (K-12 and college levels) from various education arenas (classroom- outdoor/museum/etc.) every two years in different parts of Canada. In alternating years, Science on Stage Canada sends a board-selected educator from one of our national conferences to represent Canada at Science on Stage Europe. The next Science on Stage Europe Conference will take place in Finland, 2024.
Please refer to the Background/History information tab on this website for more information regarding our organization and programs. If you have further questions, please feel free to contact us via ….
Our next national conference is scheduled to take place in August 4, 5, and 6, 2023 in Victoria, British Columbia. We are offering 3 levels of participation for interested parties:
- Teacher Participant (must submit and present a previously tried lesson): $350
- Online Teacher Participant: $100
- Visitor/Observer (eg.Teacher Leaders, Administrators, Superintendents, etc.) $50
- Visitors have access to the Sunday Morning (August 6, 2023) presentations only.
Teachers/educators are required to showcase a science/technology based hands-on lesson that has been successfully used with their students. This year, we are holding a hybrid conference to accommodate teacher participants who are unable to physically attend, but are invited to present and demonstrate their lesson virtually.
